Product description
The Neo G Medical Grade Golf/Tennis Elbow Strap with heat therapy is specifically designed to provide dynamic compression and support to the forearm muscles and elbow tendon complex. It works by dampening vibration, stress and strain at the medial and lateral elbow by stabilising and cushioning the flexor and extensor muscles in the forearm. This strap can be used on either left or right forearm and is particularly useful in cases of tennis or golfer's elbow, as it reduces tendon irritation and overuse. The unique lightweight design allows adjustable compression and customisable fit.

? MHRA - registered 1st class medical device
? Heat therapeutic neoprene

I've looked all over for some good treatments for tennis elbow and came across the book Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow. In it, the book recommends using one of these forearm bands, also known as counterforce braces. Apparently they don't know exactly how these things help decrease tennis elbow pain, but they work. The current theory is that tennis elbow is a problem with the tendon of one of your forearm muscles. Putting this brace near the tendon of the problem muscle takes pressure off the tendon, giving it a chance to heal. Some of the studies quoted in the book also show these braces can increase your arm strength as well as decrease pain- so there's a lot of benefit to be gained by using one.

Now the first problem you might imagine you'd have is one of comfort. These things have to be on snug to take pressure off the forearm tendon or they're useless. Of course more pressure usually means LESS comfort. This one has an insert and an adjustable velcro cinch strap- so its probably going to be comfortable to most people.

An interesting tool for tennis elbow sufferers, give it a try, however I'd urge sufferers to also do a few of the specialized exercises in the book to prevent recurrences or for those who simply can't stand wearing the brace.

I play badminton just for fun once or twice a week but I recently had to stop because I had developed clear symptoms of tennis/golfer's elbow. I have used this strap for a few weeks now and it really helps - I have no symptoms right now. Of course you should bear in mind that there is no guarantee that it will help you just because it worked for me.

UPDATE:
I have used this strap for a little more than a month now and I just wanted to say that it really has helped and I have had no more problems with tennis elbow ever since I started using it. But of course you should also note those reviews here that say that it hasn't helped: there is obviously no guarantee that it will be the right thing for you. Still, at that price it's worth a shot, I'd say.
It has been pointed out that there are no instructions as to how it is to be used, which is true and a bit puzzling. It is dead easy though and the best description is right here on the page under "Product Descpription":
"Straighten arm palm face down
Position the round padded area onto the top protruding muscle just below elbow joint
Wrap strap around forearm and tighten till firm but comfortable & secure velcro"

You don't really need more instructions - it doesn't have WiFi... :-)

Great Stuff 24 Feb 2011
I suffered abit of tennis elbow from playing golf. So I bought this strap from Amazon just to give it a try. Really, it said that on the tin, after I finished the whole game of golf, I didn't feel a thing, just a little bit tired on my muscle but that is normal. But once I worn it, I had to keep it on for the whole day until I went to bed, otherwise, the discomfort would come back soon after I took it off. The only draw back is it is a little too big for my forearm because I am a woman size 8/10.
