I have nearly finished this book and so far it seems clear and well thought out, with no indications of being rushed to print like its predecessor. I am glad that I bought it and recommend it.
If you are a total .net novice, this is not suitable as a first book.
The style chosen makes it fairly useful even if you are not taking the exam.

Don't try the exam without this book and a fair bit of experience. It's hard, very hard. But with 4-5 years of experience it should be more than doable. If you want to compensate for experience; do all the assignments in the book, they should really help you on the exam.

I've been developing in .net for several years and am just getting around to formalising my knowledge. I figured I just needed to touch up on a few areas and I'd be fine. The exam turned out to be a bit of a challenge as it expects you to remember some pretty fine detail about APIs.
This book did a reasonable job of going over that, but I think it expects you to have experience (which I guess is an intention of the exams) and to jump off into other resources. I'll admit to being a bit lazy when using the book but I felt it could have covered some things a little better, and I got some questions on the exam that weren't covered at all.
The practice test app on the CD was quite useful but I wasn't a fan of the questions. The Study test had many questions out of context, which made picking an answer trikier, and in the simulated test, I tended to spend most of my time trying to work out the question. Several questions had me analysing several lines of code per answer and trying to work out how they were different, let alone which one was correct. The real exam questions are much better worded and are much easier to understand, putting the focus more on your knowledge.
Overall I thought the book was useful and it got me through the exam, but it's not the best study book I've used. Maybe if I was a bit less lazy and did all the labs I might have got a bit more out of it :)

I have not had chance to go through much of the book but so far the book seems good .The few chapters I have gone through are well explained with ample examples and excercises

Best book ever! You can't go wrong
This book is really good if you want to study for the exam and all. Not really for beginners though i would say!
