No single book is enough to get you through any exam, and this book is no exception. What it is however is a very good book that covers all of the bases and should give you enough understanding of the exams requirements to allow you to discover your own weak area's and expand on them using alternative sources.

The book is well written and easier reading than others that I have read. I aditionally used the two test prep exams that come on the CD with the book and found them to be well written also.

Having recently took (and passed!) the Vista exam I believe there is a lot missing from this book. For example, the section on Parental Controls and BitLocker is sorely lacking.

Also, some things are factually incorrect. E.G. the books says you cannot send a Meeting Space invitation via instant messenger. You can. In addition because the book was obviously written during the beta stages of Vista a lot of the menu/navigation structures have changed and are wrong in the book. References to "Vista Professional" show the lack of fact checking.

I did the practice exams on the included CD and passed all with flying colours. However, I then tried an exam from ucertify.com and there was LOTS of topics that were more in-depth than the information in the book gave you.

Due to the general lack of Vista books at the time of writing you don't have much choice, but if you can avoid this book do so. Certainly don't use it as your main reference source.

This is a big book, packed full of information that will definitely help you, if you're studying towards the MCTS for Vista. Even if you're not, and you're keen to find out more about Vista, then this is the book for you.

It is very well written, and in an easy style. Couldn't put it down. Read it from cover to cover in 6 days.
