Product Description

Product Description

MCQs for the MRCP Part 1 will help candidates to prepare for the Royal College of Physicians MRCP Part 1 examination. It provides 10 specimen papers in the actual exam format, each of 60 questions with 5 answers each, which can be attempted against the clock under exam conditions. The answers are accompanied by full explanations, which help the candidate to focus on relevant areas of knowledge sought by MRCP examiners, and introduce candidates to a logical approach to MCQs. The book, therefore, provides both practice for the examination and an aid to revision. The questions have been formulated by MRCP course teachers with many years of experience. This book should be of interest to candidates for the MRCP, PLAB and American National Boards.

The concept of a book with a number of practice exams is excellent. The long factual answers are correct, however the fact that many of the "TRUES" are in fact "FALSE" (as testified by the textual answers provided) lends only to confuse. In an exam which is frustrating at the best of times this book can be a hindrance. Future editions should rectify the mistakes.

Eventhough the MRCP part 1 pattern has changed quite frequently this remains the best book for "rapid revision"..for SHOs on the move and working like head less chicken. The pattern is simple 12 sets of exam papers..60 questions in each with 5 stems in every question and followed by concise and brilliant notes on answers section. After you have methodically gone through these papers you will understand how a question can be framed from a particular topic. Recommended as the lone book for a doctor with no time or an excellent self check book for "read well" ones!

An Excellent and a Must- Buy MCQ Book 20 Jun 2001
By Dr. PRATEEP KUMAR SEN - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
An excellent book for the preparation for Part 1. The sections on immunology, genetics , are really helpful as candidates are confused as to how to proceed with these topics in context to the MRCP exam. It does not go astray and confuse candidates as a lot of MCQ books do, but i would also like a bit more of emphasis on Basic Sciences. In short it is a very helpful, and informative MCQ book, and a last moment reminder to key questions which aspirants often forget to look up !
