Pros - (1)Good sound (with bass booster)(2)USB link enables ipod playback (and other USB devices) (3)Plays MP3 CD's and regular CD's (4)Black and red colour combo looks pretty neat.
Also has SD card reader which I probably wont use.
Cons - (1)Radio tuning needs to be done manually (knob) (2)Remote control is pretty basic and does not control all features.
Overall I am happy with this product. Bought it for the kitchen and it serves its purpose.
Would recommend to others.

What's Good:
Flexible. Adequate if not spectacular sound. I don't think the Bass Xpander feature works as well as other reviewers say as it compresses the sound making music sound muddy and speech boomy. Manual mono-stereo switch for FM is a plus. Looks good. Solid with no vibration rattles but the plastics fit could be a bit better. Line in and headphone socket is useful. USB and SD (not SDHC or SDXC) are this machines best feature.

No recording or ripping facility. Its strictly a player only. It also has problems with certain WMA files which from what I can see are within the spec given in the user manual. These are ripped streams from BBC radio which I have to convert from WMA to...WMA! and then they play without problem. BBC mp3 podcasts play without difficulty. Remote control does not do volume or mute, so really just a gimmick.
For the money its pretty good, particularly if you are not an iphone or ipod user. You need to have PC to get the full value from this box.

This cd player is really good. I chose sanyo after I tried philips cd player. Sanyo is much better with sound quality and volume and lots of other things. I`m pleased with this player. Recommend for everyone..

LOOK NO FURTHER.....
I bought this unit for an OAP who specifically wanted it for playing mp3 cd's, which it does. As she has arthiritis in her hands the chunky red volume and tuning knobs are a bonus. Read more
