4.0 out of 5 stars Don't be deceived by the cover image 23 Mar 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
With a title so full of cheese that it could easily pass for a Welsh Rarebit, and a Kitch Regency Cover image I was dubious to say the least for this offering.

It isn't something I would usually go for, but as I've got a two fold challenge for myself this year (to read as many freebie downloads and widen my book horizons) I decided to risk it.

What I got from my perception of title and cover combined, was in fact so very different, and a real treat in point of fact.

The Prologue was the weakest part, as it was claggy and a little confusingly written. I would seriously suggest a some re-working should be undertaken to fix it, which would go a long way to ramping up the book's possible rating.

Whilst I loved Ruth/Anita characterisation, it was a little weak in places and a tiny bit of a pity fest.

I completely fell in love with Jordan. My favourite scene is where he scents his mate.

There were minor typographical and grammatical errors, which it would be nice to see fixed. There were additionally inconsistencies in names - this is a bug bear of mine - however the writing was overall well done and the problems mentioned didn't irritate me overly and put me off the book, or alter the ultimate rating.

This could easily run the distance as a full length piece of fiction if it could be tightened up and developed a little more.

Having gone into it expecting nothing in particular, I was very pleased to find that actually it was difficult to put down, so a 4 star rating (4.5 if I could) for this offering by joint authors.

I am looking forward to the next in the series, and will be downloading that very shortly. I can't wait to find out what happens to the smelly and stained Professor.

As a footnote, I notice that neither of the authors have "About me" pages on Amazon. It would be very nice to find out a bit more about them.

5.0 out of 5 stars great read 21 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
it's futuristic but not too futuristic you don't understand it. the main woman ruth can be quite annoying at times but there's a bit of humour and hot people in the book and the plot is easy to follow but interesting. The end i thought would have been more dramatic and more of a fight but for a nice quick easy read it is well worth the money. and the romance between them is very believable. I highly suggest it

4.0 out of 5 stars "The Treaty" series book 1 5 Feb 2012
By Book Addict TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Close to 50 and alone after an isolated life caring for her ailing mother, the now aimless Ruth volunteers for a time travelling experiment. Yet something goes wrong; Ruth is supposed to only have visions of the future, but she is instead flung into the body of the young and beautiful Anita DeBurgh.

Ruth aka Anita finds herself undergoing a compulsory tour of duty as part of a treaty with the planet Terron. For 100 years, in exchange for the Terron oil producing plant, all Earth women under the age of 30 have to visit Terron for 3 days. In that period a Terron male may be lucky enough to find his destined mate, the woman who can return to him his virility and keep him young before the Aging begins and the chance to mate with someone and start a family is lost forever.

Of course Ruth attracts the attention of Jordan Demantena, and is soon whisked off and married to a hunky alien husband. The plain, inexperienced Ruth is soon having the time of her life, revelling in a hot young body, but she is wracked with worries and doubts. Would Jordan still be attracted to her if he knew what she really looked like, what is happening to her own body and where is Anita's mind?

The plot is exciting, as Ruth not only acclimates to unfamiliar technology and an alien world, she also uncovers secrets and plots that could jeopardise her future with Jordan. The alien setting and futuristic technology is well done, and the romance between Ruth and Jordan is very heated from the start. My only fault with IMAA is that the proof reader could have cast a more careful eye; Jordan's surname consistently switches between Demanteena and Demantena (small gripe I know but it irked). Overall though, this is an enjoyable futuristic romance and I'll certainly check out book 2 "She Married a Time Traveller".
