Product Description

First Sergeant Ed Ryan, an experienced and combat hardened US Marine is nearing the end of his career. Although physically very fit, he has been injured and wounded once too often, leaving him with a knee that is so weak that it makes him a liability under combat pressure. The powers that be deem him medically unfit to continue as a combat NCO. Not enthusiastic over a possible desk job or even training post, his Commanding Officer is sympathetic and does not want to lose a man of his calibre and experience, so he gives Ed a period of extended leave to think through his options.
Unbeknown to anyone else except a child counsellor in his past, all his life Ed has struggled with a hidden secret desire. A big man, in a macho world, he has successfully managed his secret desire, but now it threatens the very fabric of his future..
This desire always was, and still is to be a woman.

He ran away from the desire by enlisting and forcing himself to be the roughest, toughest Marine that ever enlisted. He was entirely successful, as the desire diminished as each day passed and with each new theatre of combat. As fresh physical challenges arose, he met them and overcame whatever the world threw at him. He successfully fought the feeling that he did not belong in his body, but now as that aspect of his life that enabled him to do so is under threat, he is afraid that the feelings will return and take control.

Suddenly alone and vulnerable to his demons, he is approached by a mysterious man, who makes him an offer so ludicrous that he had to laugh. But then the man told him about his inner desires, the ones that no one knows about.
Ed stopped laughing and listened.
The offer: -
To be a Special Agent in Time. In a female body of his choice
He didn’t believe it either, at first.

Could he refuse an offer like that?

Like hell he could.

5.0 out of 5 stars Start of an amazing series., 12 Jan 2012
This review is from: MARINE (Agent of Time) (Kindle Edition)
A surprisingly fresh take on the time travel genre that seemlessly merges the TG element into a very interesting story of a man living as a woman in the past while trying to prevent the evil people from changing the timeline for their own selfish reasons, sort of like the last season of Quantum Leap. I enjoyed this greatly and would love to read the next book in what looks to be a very interesting series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid book, the usual Tanya Allan treat, 6 Jan 2012
By Christopher Weber - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: MARINE (Agent of Time) (Kindle Edition)
It made a happy day when good old Amazon recomendations brought up the newest Tanya Allan. I purchased the book without even looking at the product description and the price and only then realised Tanya had raised the price on her Ebooks to 4.99 from 3.99.

You naughty girl you.

I read it in a few hours and as usual my main gripe is that it was too short and I would have liked it to last longer, but if she wrote longer books that means we would have to wait longer between books so I guess that's a wash. The second issue was one of historical acuracy. Unlike her earlier historical fictions on the Second world War this one was set in the Napoleonic Era and I could tell the Author was not quite as certain in this setting. Little things like talking about the "Eastern 14 Colonies" in America and how in 1813 "Boney would be back" even though he had not be vanqueshed to Elbe yet at that point.

Nothing too terrible but it distracted from the reading, along with the clear idea that while the author was describing an american character, indeed an Iconic one of a USMC Marine NCO I could never forget the author was British.

Still, I wont ask for my money back, and I look forward to the next one.
