For an adult dyslexic who has never had a dyslexia assessment or read any other book on the subject, this book covers most of the bases. But I feel that, for anyone who has made it to adulthood with the condition, there will be little new here. The CD is a nice touch and the book is well laid out and easy to use.
The biggest disappointment was the section on memory. Impaired short-term working memory is a very common problem for many with dyslexia and this is acknowledged at the start of the chapter on memory. But, from then on, it is never addressed again and the chapter simply rehashes the same old memory techniques of mnemonics, visualisation, etc.
There is also little guidance on adult employment rights regarding disability discrimination, adjustments to the workplace, etc.
