A really charming delivery, great advice and an easy to read book that balances common sense with a shared appreciation of the finer things in life.

I laughed at the accidental spotting of a friend's bank balance (who hasn't done that and consequently felt a bit small). I smiled ruefully at the five white t-shirt rule (good point - what's a washing machine for?). But mostly I realised that here is someone I can relate to, who happens to know more about shopping than I do, who gives truly good advice that balances my desire for self spoiling with a kindly and fun reminder of what I really want from life.

We all need a friend like Kate but since most won't be as honest or as insightful - the book is a great place to start.

Highly recommended for women (and men) of all ages.

At last! A book that helps you look at your life and spending without giving you sleepless nights and sending you in to despair and doom and gloom.

Full of wonderful bits of advice, as if written by a truthful, no nonsense friend.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has lapsed New Year's resolutions and just wants to manage their life a little better!

I really enjoyed reading kate battericks book, great tips for making your money go a long way and pointing out what we waste our money on everyday.

As a compulsive shopper myself, with a massive wardrobe, moaning boyfriend and an poor bank balance (debts!) this book puts everything into perspective and teaches you that you dont have to deprive yourself completely but how to be sensible with money.

very realistic and sensible, i recommend all women who love to spend buy this book.

This book is just amazing for getting you sorted! I've made so many excuses about sorting my finances out and always persuaded myself to use my credit card for that must have item. Now I can finally gain control over my stupid pointless momentary needs and actually stop worrying about money. I've organised my wardobe, got smart with my food shopping and sleep better due to this book. It is what every smart girl needs.

What a great book! Very funny but frank about what you need to do to get what you want/need. Kate brings this book to life by the way she writes, and I for one, have put many principles in place and everything at home has definately been streamlined! I would recommend this to anyone that has an aim to buy that "Special Something" but doesn't know who to get it!

Hi - you write in my style! I love the doodles and the funky writing style, makes learning so much easier (and I know, am a teacher and lecturer!) - when you make the information relevant to where we are and link to things we want (the handbag!) then we are sure to learn the skills! Haven't finished reading the book yet but am really enjoying it. Thanks!
