If, like me, all you want to do is get VHS material onto PC/DVD without spending hours learning complicated software or tweaking all kinds of often-irrelevant effects, then this is the bee's knees. It is so simple and intuitive you hardly need instructions. Importing from cameras or video footage is a doddle (you'll need a dongle between your VHS player and the PC, tho. I use Video-2-PC and it's sweet). Auto-enhancement works well in just a few obvious clicks. You can shorten or cut your footage into bites, assemble them onto the Time Line (drag and drop), review your result in the preview window and then a single click gets it into MPEG4 or WMV format for you. You'll need another program if you want to convert it into anything else and the program does have to connect to the Internet to complete the install and to validate 2 file formats (all free) but after that you can use it anytime and without tearing your hair out or hoping your computer won't survive its flight out of the window! This is video editing for simpletons like me who appreciate something that just does what you want in a clear and obvious way. Bmarvellous!
