Outstanding, innovative GPS 23 Sept. 2013

This GPS unit was exactly what I was looking for in a unit to be used for hunting. The screen size looked small at first, but in use it was more than adequate to see what I needed to. It is extremely easy to download satellite imagery to the unit with the VantagePoint software from Magellan. I am anxiously awaiting the release of WMA maps for the Southern states, as they have not been developed yet. The ability to mark hunting-specific land features while out in the woods is a vital characteristic of this unit. I also use it regularly for everyday hikes, where it proves essential with great accuracy and awesome features. Highly recommended for the beginner or intermediate GPS user (and any hunter). One of Amazon's sellers had the absolute best price anywhere for this when I purchased it in mid-August.

Small, durable, picks up a signal inside the house, buttons respond well, screen looks great... awesome product. I own several GPS units (Etrex, Triton 400, Garmin Oregon), and this is the best one yet. I hunt, geocache, hike, etc.

Magellan eXplorist 350H 30 Sept. 2013

This may be a deal breaker for some people. This magellan's firmware cannot be updated on a macintosh computer. You must use a PC for firmware updates. However, you can download maps and other software data using a mac. I contacted Magellan and they confirmed this by email.

BEST AT ANY COST 29 May 2014

The is the perfect GPS for the hunter or outdoorsman. The learning curve is minimal and features meet and exceed my expectations. Many of the other GPS models, my friends and I have used included features that really did not add benefit, but complicated and overburdened the tasks required. The primary objectives I and my friends have is to locate simple points of interest (blinds, markings, cabin, etc.). than return to those locations as well as finding your way back to the original starting point. This unit is perfect for these needs without complicating the process, there are some simple to use identifiers that will allow you to label locations and points of interest. My previous GPS, had so many features that it became burdensome to use. For the outdoorsman this is the BEST GPS we have every used, it is ACCURATE, SIMPLE to USE and RELIABLE. This is the best, not only for the money, but at any cost.
