Format:Audio CD
This is great, mood lifting music. From very funky to a slow ballad. The bass playing is on a par with Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke. The inclusion of the Billy Cobham classic Red Baron alone makes it worthwhile. One word of caution: if you want to play this loud (and it sounds fantastic if you do!) make sure your amp and speakers are up to it. This recording eats Watts for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Ive been listening to Marcus's music since 1981 he immediately became my favorite bass player. From his work with David Sanborn, Miles Davis & Dave Grusin to name only three of many he's worked with.You can here his influences from Larry Graham, Jacko Pastorious to Stanley Clarke.
My favorite track features Rapheal Siddiq, Boomerang from the film of the same name. Over the years he just keeps getting better, you'll not be dissapointed with this album

Format:Audio CD
This is a slow-grow album that quickly become a jazz favourite. This guys plays Slap base like no one else and at first it can sound hard and difficult to listen to. Within days its softens and you begin to hear the real detail and excellent production that should have all Jazz, acid jazz and soul fans looking for more. chakka Khan, Herbbie Hancock and Joe sample feature making this an oustanding CD with everything from dance, to mood and soul. This should become a classic.

Fantastic Album
Well deserved winner of a Grammy for "Best Contemporary Jazz Album". An album that anybody could enjoy ! It's funky, melodic, lively, subtle but full of energy.
