The best hackers in the world are in a fight to the death. The opposing group of our current lifestyle, want to start over in the country..... writing new laws and electing new leaders for our society. So the question is.....Who ARE the good guys, and who ARE the bad guys?
I would suggest the book to anyone who enjoys a great suspense/thriller novel, with a futuristic twist. Author J.C.Allen writes extremely well, creating a totally believable story. The strong men and women characters are intense, passionate individuals, for whom fighting to the death might be the only option to save the world as we know it. When current politics, military forces from several countries, and high level technology collide, the end result is terrifying. The book is written so well, the story is so strong, and the author describes the details so well, it could be made into an excellent Hollywood blockbuster, right now.
Enjoy the wild ride!
Whose side will you be on?
So, if you were hunting for the people who were trying to replace your government, knowing that they had weapons and armed forces they had stolen from your country... knowing they could control everything from the TV to mobile phone communications, would you STILL sign up??
M.O.D. is a terrorist element, intent on the overthrow of the US government... or are they?
In their hunt for the leader of the group, two FBI agents have to face that question. For one, Scott, the answer is simple and he joins up. For his partner Sheelia, she has a duty to her country, and she wants M.O.D. stopped.
Author J C Allen has really hit the mark here with an excellent story that will challenge the reader to root for the bad guys, or was that the good guys? *sigh*
There is solid writing and excellent conceptual work throughout the book and although others have highlighted that there were too many things in the content that were `impossible', you really do have to consider how far we could have advanced in science, technology and medical achievements, if human research was unlimited in funding and resources... THEN ask yourself, just how impossible is it?
Admittedly, there are elements of this work that revolve solely around the internet and hacking of systems, which although some may find it cumbersome reading, again you have to consider it a crucial method of control in the modern web-based world, where so many rely on the internet for their information, entertainment and even social interaction... After all, you're reading this review, aren't you? ...Read more ›
Special Agent Scott Carver is a young, idealistic FBI agent who is immediately drawn to the political arguments made by the mysterious M.O.D., a nearly mythical computer hacker who one day emerges from a twenty-year hiatus to begin broadcasting a message of alternative government in all mediums, including the internet and TV. Scott inevitably falls prey to M.O.D's well-fashioned arguments and defects to a hidden base that turns out to be so much more.
Having been helpless to stop her partner from "going to the dark side," Special Agent in Charge Sheelia Tanner, a woman even tougher than she is beautiful, commits to finding not only her partner but the home base of M.O.D.'s massive gathering of defectors and stolen weapons. She knows that if she fails, the entire United States government could fall...and so begins a chess game for the very future of the United States. Ancient airplanes, criminal hackers, and futuristic technologies all come into play as each side vies for an advantage.
I strongly urge you to grab the amazing thrill ride "M.O.D." and learn where your own allegiances lie.
