RAD LAB Series - Wonderful Resource 17 Oct. 2007
By Eric Gustafson - Published on Amazon.com
This will be a short review. I will not go over the amazing span and usefulness of the technical content of this series as this is already widely known.

I was worried that the CD format might not be very readable or useable because of experience with content scanned from old print source material. I gambled that since the text was identified as searchable, it might also be readable.

I am very pleased and pleasantly surprised. The material in the CDs is indeed both readable and searchable. And all of the line art, mathematical expressions, and drawings have been preserved in very good resolution.

Using the V7 Acrobat reader, the text is good enough to be read directly from the screen. I usually have to print out text if I will be reading much of it at a time or studying it in detail. Earlier versions of the Acrobat reader do not render the text as well as version 7.

The search mechanism permits the entire series to be searched at one time rather than requiring the same search to be applied to individual volumes one at a time. This is very useful.

The only disappointment is that most of the photographs did not fare as well as the text or drawings. However, this is a minor consideration as the photos, while interesting, are not essential to the understanding of the material.

Classic series documenting one of man'sgreatest achievements 2 May 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
My only negative comment is: too bad its broken into two CD's and not one continuous DVD. I would have bought this set even if I owned the entire library of books. The ability to search keywords provides excellent organization and is necessary since the subjects often overlap. Even non-technical folks should appreciate the historical significance of this work since it was created by a few very talented individuals who dedicated their lives to win a terrible war.
An excellent reference 14 April 2004

This is perhaps one of the best CD book sets that I
have ever seen. IEEE-MTT Society used a similar approach
by digitizing and recording all the transactions into
searchable CDs. Artech House seems to did a very good
job by providing this legendry series in CDs too.
