Disappointing offering from June L. Ness. Could have done with some decent quality colour prints of Feiningers work and no, cheapskate black and white pictures, just to pad it out; considering this book is supposed to be about a great artist who painted would you believe in colour.
It seriously needs a remake, preferably edited by someone else, someone who knows what they're doing.
His best work isn't even here, (which was no surprise) Jesuits iii, the Bicycle Race, Bird Cloud, Gelmeroda and the Bathers and there is little reference of the influence or technique of his fantastic and highly individual style. It would have been great if there had been an in depth analysis of some of his paintings, you know the ones he did in colour. I suppose that was too much to ask.
