After a background in dance I became a devoted Pilates fan. I have found that this video - yet again - demonstrates the excellent teaching ability of Lynne Robinson. Her directions are impeccably accurate and thorough explanations ensure that the participant is in the correct position to conduct the exercise properly, an essential part of the Pilates method. The video is well presented and includes an introduction section in which Lynne revises all the elements of Pilates, such as lateral breathing, core stability and alignment. The exercises themselves are in the true Pilates style. As a qualified fitness instructor, I appreciate the rigorous development of the exercises and the special adaptations for pregnency. I am currently in my 22nd week of pregnancy and found that after just one session everything else in life became so much easier. I feel that this is perhaps due to the emphasis on correct posture which is something vital in pregnancy and something I lost without weekly Pilates sessions. All round, this is the type of quality video that is to be expected from Body Control Pilates and Lynne Robinson. I highly recommend it, but have lots of pillows ready to keep you and your bump comfortable.
