Now I admit to being a bit of a book snob and consistently berate myself for not having read enough of the classics, find lots of chick lit pretty one dimensional and all a bit too yummy, slummy mummy goes shopping.
But Luxury is different.
It's not your average Jilly Cooper or chick lit book - it's the ultimate guilty pleasure for 20,30,40+ women.
I found myself laid up in bed and in between White Tiger and Wuthering Heights, I devoured Luxury. Which one did I enjoy most? Luxury, of course.
Luxury is a page-turning, bonkbuster from start to finish, a great fun, pacey read, full of ideas, attention to detail and lovely turns of phrase.
For me, it is Gossip Girl, Twilight, Grazia, Sex and the City (all those wonderful guilty pleasures) and London life all rolled into one. My only disappointment with it? Getting to the end and realising that I couldn't immediately go online and order the sequel. Come on Jessica Ruston, please.
If you're looking for a book you'll actually enjoy reading (rather than feeling you should), a damn good, action packed story and more than a slightly ironic take on modern life then Luxury is the book for you. I was pleasantly surprised and just wish I got to it sooner...or later (so that I would still be reading it now!).
