About the Author

Dr. Jill Nash grew up in (arguably) the best place in Britain - The Lake District. Always one for fun and adventure she trained as an outdoor pursuits instructor before globe trotting all over the world on scuba-diving expeditions and studying in various parts of France. The sense of adventure has never left her and after a short stint as an academic, she packed her bags and wondered the world - this time with her new husband. The most incredible adventure? 'Definitely diving the Blue Hole in Belize and getting married in Italy of course!' Carlo Nash also a fellow Northerner (but with a family history in Italy - a much guarded family secret!) grew up in Bolton, Lancashire. His Northern accent and penchant for action thrills attracted his nomadic wife. Carlo is actually a professional footballer, which allows him to travel the world during the 'off season', but unfortunately he cannot partake in all the dangerous activities - he persuades his wife to instead! He is the man behind the lens, painstalkingly making sure every shot and every angle is perfect. A bit like his game really. Perfect travel companion - naturally - and best trip? Probably hiking on the Great Wall of China - 'it s certainly the best pre-season training imaginable'.

The cover of this book reflects perfectly what you'd expect to find inside, a stylish, down to earth, non pretencious travel book. As a 30 something I have been thinking about taking a global adventure for sometime. I'm not exactly flush with cash but I definately don't want to be joining the students on their year out! OK that may make me sound old and boring but this book proves that backpacking does not have to be exclusively for the budget traveller. I love the idea of backpacking in style.
Not only help you decide where to go but it cleverly categorises what type of traveller you are, so whether your a culture vulture or a beach lover there will be some good advice for you.
The website is also worth a visit as LBP also offers travel advice. Starting from just £50 you can request a travel itinerary for your trip.
LBP is a well thought out brand offering you advice as well as a service. Nice one!

This book has been a good buy for us for 2 different reasons. Firstly the images captured by the photographer bring to life the cultures encountered, giving you a real taste of each destination covered. Secondly, as independent travelers ourselves, Global Adventures in Style has highlighted destinations that we may have previously overlooked, with the authors insights helping with those difficult decisions of where to prioritize your time.
