The initial unit purchased was delivered faulty as the camera thermostat would not read the temperature of the room at all. After liaising with the reseller, who was very helpful, we returned the faulty item and a working replacement was shipped to us.
When contacting Luvion direct for support prior to returning the unit to the reseller, they were disappointingly slow in their response time and with no tangible solution - which was compensated by the prompt actions of the reseller. For the high price of the unit, you would expect Luvion to be more... punctual.
The item functions as described, video is clear, camera is as sensitive as you want it to be thanks to the adjustable knob - which works like a charm. We use the night light on the camera which is just enough for our liking. Would never talk back to the baby through the unit unless you wanted to scare the poor thing, but works just the same. Lullabies that can be played via camera are somewhat coarse unless played on a low volume. Night vision is great on the unit and the VOX feature essential (you turn off the monitor to save power and it turns on automatically when camera detects noise - many other units need to be turned on manually).
You have an optional audible alarm should you have the camera volume turned down or outside in a noisy environment which activates when the camera detects noise. Have not tried camera-monitor at a large distance from each other but I seriously doubt it can surpass even 100 meters unless you are on an open field with no obstacles - we use it in our apartment at a distance of approx. 20 meters and need to lift the antenna on the monitor to get a good signal. Monitor and camera come with separate power supplies, which is logical, but are not interchangeable, which is a hassle.
Main negative point is that the monitor battery does not last as long as you would expect or need it too. We switch on the unit at approx. 9pm fully charged with the most efficient settings enabled, and it dies out at approx. 3am - for new parents, the time of night you need it the most. You would argue to have it on the charging base on the night table next to you, but as an experienced gadget freak, constantly charging a battery overnight would mean the end of the battery in a matter of months - rendering the unit "not mobile".
