Because most erotic novelists either write lame and/or improbable stories to tie those sex scenes together, or throw in a lot of meaningful dialogue and relationship development in the hope of turning porn into erotica. And more often than not they show themselves inept in both fields.
Noel Amos however has written a great tongue-in cheek novel in the great tradition of the Mike Hammer stories, wher seedy, ne'er-do-well detectives have a dame walking into their office with an assignment that will leave them continually bruised and baffled before they finally solve the case. In this case, luckily there's a lot of other dames to comfort him on the way.
The story is great fun to read; as are the frequent sex scenes that are moreover engagingly written and full of heat. A remarkable achievement by a writer who shows himself to be a good novelist and an above-avarage pornographer. A must-read!
