Very sturdy, it stays in place on the counter when in use. Very easy to clean, really just beds a rinse. Love it!

well, I purchased this product in order to make healthy pasta's and have more vegetable in my diet which is completely lacking.
I saw someone using something similar on instagram on one of the fitness accounts.
it does the job very well however, i do find that from all the twisting and pulling, i am somewhat unable to make large portions for my family without having a bit of a pain in my hands and arms.
also, because it carves out the middle of the vegetable, you are kinda loosing some of veggies. This works great for courgettes but not for other veggies.
Of course if you don't mind the carving and wastage of the vegetable & you have a bit of arm muscles, then this would be ok for you.

update: 27feb2014: it is amazing now that i know how to use it. just stick this to a CLEAN surface and its a piece of cake!

Love ease of use. Great for zucchini or courgette spaghetti. Also used it on carrots and turnips. Looking forward to seeing what else it can do

I rarely write reviews but I'm so impressed with this product that I just had to! Easy to use, easy to clean, little waste (though our guinea pigs enjoy the leftovers anyway!) and makes vegetables far more exciting for kids and adults alike. Great to use 'Courgetti' in place of or to bulk out pasta. I know a lot of raw food converts love to use this to prepare raw vegetables but unfortunately (due to stomach surgery) I can't consume raw veg in large quantities but a quick blanche or stir-fry solves that. Next on the list to try are roasted sweet potato spirals!

I like this gadget, it goes in the dishwasher!. However you have to want to use it and be quite strong to get the veg especially carrots to 'spaghetti', the results are worth the effort and the kids enjoy 'spaghetti' veg for a change. I tend to use it about once a week.

I bought this after I had a delicious salad at a friend's house - the way the vegetables are prepared makes the texture interesting and filling. I used it and a friend of mine is now ordering it - soon there won't be a home in the land who doesn't aspire to having one of these fascinating gadgets.

I recommend this to those who:
*prepare food for toddlers and young children - they suddenly become raw courgette addicts when presented with them in raw 'spaghetti' form
*are on a raw food or weight reduction diet - a little goes a long way when prepared this way
*fans of stir fries

simple to clean if you rinse straight away

altogether a good purchase - not flimsy or difficult to use, as some reviews suggest

This is a little fiddly to use as there's no handle to push it along with your left hand as you are turning the handle, so I have found that (especially for hard veg like carrots) I have to put my hand between the blade and the handle to pull it closer and closer. Some of the screws have started to rust, I haven't had this very long. I wouldn't recommend other people to buy this product. I tend to slice up my courgettes by hand instead of using this unless I really really want "zoodles", simply because it's awkward to use, and the screws are going rusty already. Also the "clever" storage for the extra blades are in a place that gets them covered in juice and bits of vegetable, so unless you remove them before using the cutter, they also have to be washed after use. I'm pretty disappointed in this product.

Very disappointed with this. I found the spiralizer difficult to use and only large pieces of veg could be successfully spiralized. I tried to spiralize a carrot but even though the carrot was average sized it kept falling off and half of it was wasted. The problem I believe is the hollow cylindrical circle that pushes it's way through the middle of the veg or fruit as you wind the fruit/veg towards the blades. It is hard for veg to rotate around it and the middle piece of veg that is pushed through the hole is basically wasted unless you can find something imaginative to do with the long vegetable cylinders. A pointed design for the veg to rotate round would have been far superior and I believe a similar product by Lurch is designed with a point instead.

I bought this item and love it!

I make vegetable spaghetti out of the following : potatoes, courgettes carrots, parsnips, apples pears, butternut, onion,
beetroot. I mix courgettes, carrots, parsnip, pear & apple together and serve raw or gently steamed. The family love it and we haven't had rice or potatoes since buying this item. Good for weight loss!

However............
There is a design flaw in as much as unless you have large hands it's difficult to grip the handle on the side to put pressure on the vegetable being cut. I have seen the other model and think it will suit me better. For some reason I haven't been able to get my Lurch 1036 Spiral Cutter to stick to my work surface otherwise it might not be a problem.

I do hope a more substantial model comes out or even an electric model! C'mon designers, you know you want to!

The spiralizer does its job perfectly, you get perfect noodles as long as your carrots are not too slim. It's easy to clean, has circular bases that attach to the surface. Great value for the money.
