Hip Hop is now an overly abused, commercially generated machine, full of "gangstas" clicking their fingers and doing the soulja boy. There are still many artists within hip hop to keep me interested in the genre, but there are many artists which claim themselves to be hip hop and it is an all too familiar burden within the scence. This is where Lupe Fiasco steps in, muslim born "Wasalu Muhammad Jaco" releases his much anticipated 2nd album, the cool, and what an album it is. Most of the production being dealt with by in house 1st & 15th producer soundtrakk, who proudly has his name as the producer of the smash single "Superstar" but also, along with the lead single and the street single "Dumb it down" the album is truly brilliant. The 1st full track, "Go go gadget flow" is truly infectious, with Lupe rapping extremely fast and the words just roll off his tongue, this chorus will be stuck in your head all day. I'm not going to drag out this review all day, but i can safely reccomend this album to anyone, hip hop head or not. I don't care if your one of the minority metal heads who enjoy writing stupid negative reviews on some of the greatest hip hop albums in history, while of course having your own respected musical intrests, or even an indie head rocking away. Seriously consider making this album the next in all of your respected music collections. I mean, anyone who can make a song from the perspective of a cheeseburger, as Lupe sublimely does, and pull it off perfectly in the song "gotta eat" deserves some sort of credit, the guy is educated and knows what he is talking about.
