Hip hop has been in a bad way for a long time with gangster rap becoming the only music most rappers want to make for that mainstream appeal and big bank account. Lupe flies in the face of convention by actually saying something worthwhile, flowing uniquely and holding the listener's attention. True hip hop fans ned to listen to this album and when you do, you'll see exactly what I mean and wonder why you have so many bad hip hop albums in your collection. If you want the proof, check verse 3 on track 11 (Hurts me soul)-intelligent, thought-provoking and amazing sounding-even the production is incredible. Don't let this pass you by.

This album sounds so new and different from any other R&B and Hip-Hop. I'm not normally into this kind of music but this album somehow has already infected me and I only got it today.

The thing that makes it stand out is the beautiful string and piano arrangements on the album. 'Instrumental'has a brilliant piano line to it and Lupe's vocal over the top is simply brilliant. It might get boring and munotanous apart from the fact that Lupe collaberates with some amazing people to create brilliant vocal mixes on tracks like 'Sunshine' and single 'Daydreamin'. This guy is a star in the making and has already been picked up and championed by various radio DJs and producers including Jay Z. And this is not simply the party bump and grind Hip-Hop that infects the charts tracks like 'He Say She Say' is a genuinly emotional and dark song about trying to bring up a family.

This guy simply exudes confidence and makes his mark on the music scene without being protentious or irritating.

So as I say WOW!!!

I love this record! This album is full of great songs. If you like your hip hop chilled, this is one for your collection. As well as kick, push and daydreamin' there are a lot of other tracks like those that you'll love listening to, like Sunshine, He Say She Say and Hurt Me Soul.

The track, The Instrumental has a rock hip hop crossover theme going on, but works well. Jay-Z makes a really good appearance on the record too, rhyming on the track, Pressure.

Overall a very well produced record and I'd recommend it to those who are into the likes of Common, Kanye West, and Pharrell. I'm not a skateboarder but I can confidently say that this would be ideal for those skateboard hip hop fans out there!

I'm reviewing the actual album, not the pre-release one leaked out on the internet. I bought the record in Europe last week before it came out over here in the UK.

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have!
