Bags, bags, bags, can a girl ever have too many bags? Lunch Bags! Offers more than just lunch bags. Within this little book you will find 25 handmade sacks and wraps to sew using quick and basic sewing techniques. In addition to charming lunch bags you will also find instructions to create several different sandwich wraps that will go a long way to-ward keeping plastic wrap out of the landfills. I will be making the Bicycle Lunch Bag which has handles that are designed to go over your bike's handlebars repositioned to be used as a carrying handle once you reach your destination. Each bag comes with it's own sewing instructions and in the back of the book you will find instructions for two different methods of corner construction.--The Applique Society, 11/01/2010 Add laminated cotton, oilcloth, nylon or vinyl to your fabric stash and you'll be able to sew your way through the 25 beautiful - yet functional - sacks and wraps featured in Lunch Bags! These projects offer a greener alternative to clingfilm because they can be washed and re-used, and you can say goodbye to plastic bags in real style. Any fabric you like can be used on the outside of such items as Cheryl B Steighner's reusable sandwich wrap, Quenna Lee's zipper-top lunch bag, and Rebecca and Karen Garcia's insulated lunch tote, as long as you use something waterproof on the inside. Many designs can be adapted so you can make items to contain your kids' packed lunches and also for the office executive in your life, and you can also turn them into different kinds of bags by varying the fabric. The whole book just makes you want to head out for a picnic right now! http://mumtopia.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/3-ways-to-put-some-zing-into-your-sewing.html

4.0 out of 5 stars Some amazing designs 16 Jan 2011
By Sewing Directory TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
The second book in the Design Collective series is Lunch Bags. As with the previous book this book features projects from a range of designers who sell online.

I did wonder whether it was possible to have 25 different types of lunch bag but this book has a great range, none of them look similar to the others. They range from small sandwich bags to kids lunch bags or huge insulated carry all bags.

As with the Little Birds book there is a pattern section in the back, as well as a useful section on corner construction techniques. The projects are aimed at beginners and are quick and easy to make.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 28 Feb 2012
By Kay
Format:Paperback
Disappointing, no pictures to illustrate process and many of the bags available on the internet for free. I also didn't find the choice of bags very appealing, I hope it doesn't end up sitting on my shelf gathering dust- I'm sorry!

3.0 out of 5 stars good. 30 April 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I had no idea there'd be different styles to make of lunch bags, this book has it all, sandwhich wraps, picnic bags for attaching to your bicycle, beautiful grown up lunch bags, ones for kids with humour element to them and yet all appear to be practical and easy clean too. very good book, clear instructions with pictures and how to's.
