Great architecture seen through great images. 23 Jun. 1997
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Portugal's photographs of Lois Barragan's unique and timeless buildings are some of the best architectural photography I have ever seen. The majority of books on architects destroy the essence and soul of great designs due to poor, cold, and lifeless images. In this book, the images and the buildings within them raise each other to a higher level. Excellent choice for anyone interested in Modernism and Mexican architecture

A beautiful object filled with beautiful information. 8 April 2015
By jw468 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Beautifully presented, described, and photographed by Barragán’s chosen photographer. The book is beautifully made as well, being bound in purple cloth, lovingly printed in Japan on thick paper, and designed by Massimo Vignelli. Eleven of Barragán’s later works are considered through text, labeled plans (except where noted below), and photos, many of which are printed full-bleed, frequently covering an entire spread. Covered works include El Pedregal; two houses on Avenida de las Fuentes (no plans); Luis Barragán House; Eduardo Prieto Lopez House (no plans); Galvez House; Capuchinas Sacramentarias del Purísimo Corazón de María Chapel and Convent Restoration; Satellite City Towers; Las Arboledas; Los Clubes; Gilardi House; and San Cristobal Stable, Pools, and House.
