Product Description

The Luger MD 6x30 Monocular features carefully selected, accurately cut and immaculately coated lenses that guarantee bright images and sharp contrasts. Its tough construction protects the high-grade premium quality optics, which provide a tremendous field of view. Features Magnification/power: 6xObjective lens diameter: 30mmField of view (m/1000m): 183Rubber armouringSpectacle wearers' eyecupsTripod adapter fittingIntegrated carrying strapIncludes carry caseDimensions: 116x58mmWeight: 212g Glossary Objective lens diameter:Determines the amount of light that penetrates the objective lens of binoculars or spotting scopes. The larger the diameter, the greater the amount of light that enters the optical system, and the brighter the image. Field of view:When looking through binoculars or spotting scopes, a circular image appears. The width of this image is referred to as the "field of view". For binoculars and spotting scopes the field of view is being measured for m/1000m. The corresponding figure indicates the width of the area visible at a distance of 1000m. The higher the magnification, the smaller the field of view.

5.0 out of 5 stars Luger MD 6x30 Monocular Review 5 Aug 2011
By Jeb
My objective was to find a lightweight optical device for use while walking and this monocular is ideal.

The device is well made, ergonomically shaped and fits comfortably in the hand. There is a retractable eyecup which when extended takes the overall length to 130mm. The maximum barrel diameter is 57mm. This monocular weighs 250grams including the soft case [which has a belt tag].
The optical performance is good for a small device. It has a very crisp central image although there is a slight un-sharpness on the outer edge of the image. Focusing is via a ring behind the eyecup which has a smooth positive action. The closest focus is approximately 3m.

I am pleased with this product but very disappointed with the suppliers packaging! The outer box containing the product was too large and did not contain any additional packing allowing the free movement of the manufactures box inside the package [not good for an optical product!]. But my main criticism is that the product was retained by a single loop of transparent tape [50mm] around the outside. This did not touch the ends of the box which were folded in and access to the contents would have been easy. Fortunately the monocular was protected in the soft case inside the manufacturer's box and I did receive it without damage, more by good luck than good management!
