Product Description

Synopsis

Through Peter von Vorzik's letters to his wife, family and comrades, as well as the journal he keeps, we get glimpses of the great aerial battles over Europe and North Africa and the final massed confrontations over Germany. With his brother a senior member of the SS and his sister married to an Italian count, there are also vignettes of the whole Nazi-Fascist hierarchy. Told in five sections this wartime epic is also a family saga that switches between scenes of family bliss and political intrigue until the Third Reich is engulfed in a Gutterdammerung of its own making.

5.0 out of 5 stars Luftwaffe Letters, 9 Sep 2010
This review is from: The Luftwaffe Letters (Paperback)
Excellent book, thoroughly enjoyed reading it and immersed myself in the characters, and it is very poignant at the end. The way the characters travel through their journey from (their perspectives) the glorious Third Reich to the utter devastation of their homeland and the horrors perpetrated by their regime is plain to read. Though I am interested to know the reasons why reviewer ever-so fretful gave it only one star saying there are many mistakes? But I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars LUFTWAFFE LETTERS, 4 Jun 2007

This review is from: The Luftwaffe Letters (Paperback)
A story that develops through the letters that pass between a German Family and their Friends, prior and during the Second world war. Excellent development of the Characters and brilliantly researched.

Anyone who wants to learn the full history of the War with tremendous insite, should grab this book before it is sold-out.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh no!, 19 Jun 2007
This review is from: The Luftwaffe Letters (Paperback)
There are so many mistakes in this work of fiction, that those who know very little about the Luftwaffe, might derive some enjoyment, otherwise it is a painful read.
