First things first, Lucy Diamond is not actually my real name. It's my glamorous pseudonym, because my real name - Sue Mongredien - is quite hard to spell, pronounce and remember. I also write children's books (as Sue Mongredien) so wanted to keep the two genres separate. I was born in Nottingham in 1970 and have lived all over the country: Leeds, Oxford, London, Brighton and now Bath. (I am never moving house again.) I've worked in publishing and television, as well as lots of less-exciting places, including stints as a barmaid, temp skivvy and banana packer (that is NOT a dodgy euphemism before anyone asks). I am married with three young children, and am a full-time writer inbetween school runs.
