Splendid! Awesome! Stunning!
The touch of Tami Hoag makes even the steriotype fascinating.
What I most liked about this book was the description of the interesting swamps of Louisiana. I have never been there, since Hoag is really successful in storytelling, I could feel the atmosphere. The romantica and relationship of the characters are well-described and adventurous.
In spite of its shortcomings (written in 1992)it is relatively great, give it a try. I gave 5 stars because it is belivable and not boring. Ideal for vacations.
Have a nice read.

I've read most of Tami Hoag's recent books, enjoying the story lines - suspense and a touch of romance. I found this one a little disappointing and predictable. I look forward to her next book to see if the style has reverted.

EXCELLENT 13 Feb 2011
By Mrs. A. M. Chadwick VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
This is the first book I've read by Tami Hoag and I wasn't disappointed. :-)

Serena Sheridan's grandfather disappears into the vast and infamous swamps of Louisiana for no apparent reason. Serena feels she really should find him as she's extremely worried about him. So she leaves her successful career as a psychologist.

Serena knows this is hostile territory, so she finds herself a guide, he's called Lucky Doucet and he's a dangerous Cajun who offers very little protection in the Bayou swamps. Serena's very determined to find her grandfather so she sets off with Lucky on a journey into the watery maze.

On her journey Serena gets herself into trouble before she finds her grandfather and she tries to persuade him to go home with her. Serena has also got more then she bargained for with Lucky Doucet!

When Serena gets back to civilisation she finds out that there is a traitor who has been staring up trouble right from the start, so now she needs to sort that out.

I don't want to say anything else as it will spoil it for you.

The author grips you right for the start, her charters have great personalities and excellent depth.:-) I also love her description of the interesting swamps of Louisiana, you feel as your there with Serena. :-)

I found this to be a compulsive, easy and enjoyable read.:-) Only took me a couple of hours to read as I just couldn't put this book down. Some people would find this a great holiday read, it's so easy to get hooked into. :-)

Not the usual thriller classic but still a good read
I have read a few of Tami Hoag's books and although I have enjoyed all of them, I feel that a couple of them should be classed as romance. This would be one of those books. Read more

Not the usual thriller from hoag -- Love story?
If you are an avid Tami Hoad reader you could give this book a miss as it does "live up" to the classic T.H novel in any way . Sould be classed as a romance.

Readable but lame.
I have read many of Tami Hoag's books and thoroughly enjoyed them but this is just not up to her usual standards. The story line is just as tacky as the main characters. Read more

This is an excellent book. It was cleverly plotted as it was interesting to see how the characters weaves around the sceneries. It is unpredictable. Read more

More a romance than a mystery, but its still a good read.
This is the third Tami Hoag novel I've read and its not the best. Its not so much a mystery/thriller as a romance novel, and whilst I enjoyed it to a point I would have prefered a... Read more
