This is a fantastic feel good album which has a classic pop sound. Imagine Elvis, Roy Orbison, Buck Owens, Tom Jones and Tony Christie rolled into one, twangin' Duane Eddy riffs and you've got Raul Malo.
I'm going to put my neck out here and Say that this is possibly the finest album that he has recorded solo or as leader of The Mavericks.
This is the sort of music made for Saturday Nights.
Fans old and new will love this.

From catchy tunes, through classic Mavericks-style foot-tappers to soaring ballads this is undoubtedly a work of genius. Not many artistes could create such a captivating mix of tracks, perfectly blended and delivered by one of the best voices ever. You'll soon be hooked. Do yourself a favour and hide the rest of your music collection in case you're tempted to destroy it as you'll only want to listen to this album from now on. Unless of course you have other Raul Malo albums already.......

This a an amazing album, all of the tracks are great. Raul Malo is better known as the lead singer of the Mavericks but as a solo artist he is brilliant. He puts passion into all of the songs. You just want to play the whole CD over and over again.

This is Raul's best ever CD and all his own material. Well overdue.
I would recommend this CD, it has something for everyone.

I only own one Mavericks CD because I loved "Just Want to Dance the Night Away" and owe the purchase of Raul Malo's solo album "Lucky One" to a very lucky guess after hearing one track on the radio "Moonlight Kiss". At the time, I thought the song had a great light hearted tempo, but I didn't even catch the name of it. I took a chance purchasing this CD as it was the latest one and thought the song might be on it and it was ... to my delight! If you liked The Mavericks, then I imagine you will like this offering from Raul. There isn't a song on the album that I don't like as it is very easy to listen to. I am sure I will purchase one his earlier albums on the back of this one!

this cd was quite a treat for me. I just wish I could find more recordings by Raul. His musical talents and voice were so moving. His voice sometimes reminded me of Roy Orbison, which I thought no singer would ever again have that beutiful sound. It is a very moving CD and one that I will listen to many times. I have played to family and friends, and they too found it to be some of the best music they have heard in a long time. The music, song choices, and voculs will appeal to most any one no matter their choices, rock, country, jazz, and even a little classical thrown in. Well worth a listen.

If you liked the Mavericks, then you won't be disappointed with this album. Although it will appeal mainly to a Country music audience, there's Western Swing & Tex-Mex influences in the mix too. Some of the songs are a little darker in tone than the work he did with the Mavericks, but there are plenty of sing along tracks to redress the balance!
