"O Lucky Man!" is a wonderful five star soundtrack, to a wonderful five star movie. The collaboration among Lindsay Anderson, the director, Malcolm McDowell, its star, and Alan Price, the music man, is evident throughout the movie. The songs are some of the best of Alan Price's career, notably "Poor People", "Justice" and the title tracks. The clever, thoughtful lyrics, light-hearted vocal delivery, and simple keyboard based arrangements make Alan Price's OST an all-time favorite of mine, and the movie, an all-time favorite, too (although the recent re-release on DVD did not do justice to the soundtrack.)
I have purchased many copies over the course of the last 30 years, of the movie and the soundtrack, as gifts, and for my own update. The music stands the test of time very well. The lyrics and music impress new generations, for good reason.
