This is a novelty - a Lucky Luke book originally published just last year in France and not in the 60's and 70's but just from last year. At last we are keeping up with the lucky French. Luke's original creator Morris died in 2001 but a variety of authors and artists have picked up the story. It follows the genre very well indeed, picking up another true story of the Pinkertons detective agency who are foiling a plot to assassinate president Lincoln. Luke gets a hard time of it in this story but wins the day in the end. Good to see the Daltons getting another outing and also Jolly Jumper having some funny lines - all in all a very good story and a wonderful new chapter in the ongoing Lucky Luke saga.

Fun and didactic 24 May 2012
By Stefan
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The book was not written by the original authors and it shows. It is still fun but a deliberate didactic air has cropped up in it. This can be confusing for younger readers; especially as it deals with American history and asomewhat obscure subject.
