We bought this harness for skiing. When we ski with my 4 year old, there are a few times when having a handle on her is not only a nice feeling, but a necessity. For example, when getting on a chair lift. Yes, I can lift her to get onto the lift, but as I'm sitting down I need to ensure she doesn't slide off. Since her legs are so short, she can't sit comfortably with the skis off the chair and her on the chair. So, having a handle is very useful. Also, when skiing, it is nice to be able to let her go out on her own to an arms length, to get a feel for the snow. This is a type of tool that the ski school uses, except that those are vests that seem to fit better. So why 3 instead of 5 stars? Well, this is adjustable, but I can't seem to really adjust it to fit her snugly. It HAS to be snug, or it's kind of worthless. And, if not snug for a four year old, who exactly is this designed for?
