Good open account 23 Oct 2009
Format:Hardcover
Because Paul Nicholls is a very open, up front man much of the content of the book which which has an element of controversy is already in the public domain and was the subject of much press coverage at the time. That said, it is good to have it all in one place and to revisit it all. It is a very well written book, reads easily and I've no doubt I'll read it again in the years to come. There is enough in there for the non racing fan to keep interested and it avoids the fault of many racing biographies of endlessly reeling out statistics and details of minor races.

I bought this book for my dad for Christmas. He had finished reading it by the 28th Dec. He said he struggled to put it down and found it to be one of the best boks he has ever read. He enjoyed the honesty of Paul Nicholls and found it to be a very enjoyable read. My dad is a massive racing fan and says any racing fan should read this book.
On another personal note I want to say a thank you to Amazon. I paid for the special deliery to have the book delivered. The book was late and Amazon paid me the delivery charge back without having to e-mail them.
An excellent service yet again.

Cracking good read with 'Star' appeal.
I finished this book at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. As a huge Kauto Star fan I wanted to find out more about the man behind the horse and this book didn't disappoint. Read more

Very good read
I gave this to my partner for his birthday and he really enjoyed it. He enjoyed Mick Fitzgerald's autobiography more, but he still thought this was a great read.

A RACING MANS READ
A GREAT BOOK FOR THE ENTHUSIAST AS IT IS BOTH INFORMATIVE AND EVOCATIVE RELIVING THE AUTHORS CAREER AS A JOCKEY AND TELLING IT AS IT IS AS A TRAINER. Read more
