About the Author
Lizzie MacGregor is the Assistant Librarian of the Scottish Poetry Library, in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. She has previously compiled Handfast, Handsel and Lament - published by Polygon.

What a masterpiece of Edinburgh's many facets!
I was born and raised in Edinburgh and know Edinburgh as my blood relative, not as a transplant.
If you're looking for a glorious walk down Edinburgh's streets this book is for you.
Not only does the book boast Edinburgh's riches, but also her gutters and gut-wrenching poverty. It's Edinburgh uncovered. It's the resplendant Edinburgh as I know her.
Not only is there high-falootin' raves about Edinburgh but also pavement-stomping laughter about her too.
I will read this book over and over again and find new gems of memories and images each time.
I just wish the book had been twice the length and with more 'Edinburgh dialect'. Most of the dialect I didn't recognize from Edinburgh's streets.
