Product Description

Product Description

The Storys were formed in 2003 and their 70's West Coast flavoured songs have seen them travel the globe, release two critically acclaimed albums, appear in a film, play scores of headline gigs and support the great and good: Van Morrsion, Sanatana, Katie Melua, Celine Dion and Sir Elton John to namedrop but a few. The band has a large and devoted following in the UK and as far afield as Holland, Germany and the USA. Quite uniquely the band features four singer songwriters who all take lead vocals on different songs and count amongst their inspirations vocal harmony bands such as The Eagles, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young and The Beatles. "Luck" has been recorded over the past 6 months and could be the swansong of this much loved band as they intend to take a break after playing an emotional farewell gig at The Grand Theatre, Swansea, Wales (sold out) on June 19th 2010. Lead singer "Steve Balsamo said " We've had a great six years together and have memories that will be with us for the rest of our lives. However, we all think the time is right to try something new. We all have our own projects to take forward and we're eager to support each other. We look forward to giving our fans a fantastic final live show" The farewell gig will leave room for a postscript to a partnership that has enjoyed considerable commercial and critical success. "Luck" oozes the quality, charm and vocal harmonies that the band has become synonymous with. A killer album by any assessment.

5.0 out of 5 stars The brilliant storys 9 Jun 2010
By Bj Lucas VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the storys third and sadly final album.Great tunes brilliantly and skillfully written. 'Everbody wants you to make it' sticks in my mind. The absolutely fantastic voice of Steve Balsamo makes it even better. Class sheer class. These guys should be mega stars. If you buy one album this year, make it 'Luck' by the storys. Wish i could find more to say and sadly these guys did not get the recognition they deserved. All I can say is that Steve and the guys are brilliantly talented and if you don't buy it you're missing out. So get great music into your life and buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Storys Luck 8 Jun 2010
Format:Audio CD
I have followed The Storys for five years now and cannot understand why they have not had more success. Luck is their third album and following on from the other two great albums continues with self-penned great harmony songs - please give it a listen and if you like Luck then you will also love the other two CDs The Storys and Town Beyond the Trees.

5.0 out of 5 stars END OF THE STORY? 17 May 2010
By J. McCarraher TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
This is, I believe, the third album from The Storys - and what a swansong! The group sadly disbanded this year and it really is our loss. This album is full of beautifully composed, laid back, acoustic numbers with catchy lyrics and great choruses. It really is a great 'feel-good' album and has so much to recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Storys...the end of their story... 7 Jun 2010
Format:Audio CD
Fantastic album, the end of an era.
What a loss to the music world!
Beautiful harmonies as expected.

The last gig will be sad, see you on the 19th in Swansea guys with fans old and new.

I've followed the Storys from the beginning, here's to the next chapter of your careers (Steve, Rob, Dai, Andy, Brian, Alan and Rosalie, you rock!!).

5.0 out of 5 stars 3rd Time Lucky 6 Jun 2010
Format:Audio CD
Luck is the 3rd studio album from the Swansea/Barnsley/Dutch sextet, The Storys.
It is also likely to be their final album, as the band announced plans to split after two farewell sold out gigs at the Grand Theatre in Swansea on 18th and 19th June.
To say that this album should be the soundtrack to summer 2010 is an understatement. Known for their tight vocal harmonies, excellent songwriting and quality musicianship, Luck combines all these qualities and takes them to the next level.
Kicking off with lead off single, the fantastic "Everybody Wants You To Make It", the band captivated this listener with its clever lyrics and play on words too. Stand out tracks for me ...well how long have you got ? Long Way Up rocks along with massive guitar work from Rob Thompson, All Inside, with Steve Balsamo's heartfelt vocal and Alan Thomas's gargantuan piano tugs at the heartstrings, and Please Come Home, featuring vocals from the delectable Rosalie Deighton, evokes images of a loved one far far away.
How these guys have never made it big is just beyond me...and countless others.
Go out and get yourself a slice of Luck...you never know, it maybe just what is needed to stop the band parting.....but if they do go ahead with their intentions, what a way go to go out !!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hard luck STORYS 7 Aug 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is a great album to leave the many Storys fans, third in a line of excellent albums. If you enjoy The Eagles, give this a listen, Wales gave us a great band, and the rest of the British Isles missed out on their talents.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Storys Luck 1 Sep 2010
Format:Audio CD
I really enjoyed the diversity of the groups singers and players. Every song showed a glimpse of different harmony and mostly expressed heart and passion of the group's success! I especially enjoyed "Please Come Home" and "Everybody Wants You To Make It" with the lead singer, Steve Balsamo. Steve began his career as lead singer playing Christ in the 1996 Rock-Opera Jesus Christ SuperStar. His voice exceeds most rock stars limits in the high ranges and lows as well. He and the Storys will be missed as this is their last album together. A must have album! I am collecting all the Storys albums for posterity! Enjoy!
