5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for any oneironaut 10 April 2012
By M. I. Bennett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
If you what you want is deeply considered guidance in becoming a life-long lucid dreamer, Ryan Hurd's BLUEPRINT will take you a long, long way.

As a lucid dreamer of more than ten years, I'm relieved to have found this book. It's a thoroughly rational introduction--a good beginner's text--but, more importantly, has ideas for intermediate lucid dreamers who have stumbled.

I think dreams can be mirrors--and lucid dreams are no exception. Ryan Hurd's synthesis of lucid practices reflects this. Any long-time oneironaut knows that treating a dream like virtual reality can backfire on you. This happened to me soon after I became a regular lucid dreamer. I began having lots of lucid nightmares. If I'd had this book then, it would have been so much easier!

The perspective of Hurd's writing is mature and balanced. His troubleshooting suggestions, you can feel, come from a place of calm. The writing has the weight of academia, but is down-to-earth. He's shy of neither the hard science of dreams nor their mystical possibilities.

Our understanding of lucid dreams, both scientific and psychospiritual, has come far in the last thirty years. Ryan Hurd is a notable link in the chain of that understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucid Immersion Guidebook review 4 April 2012
By Malcolm Kelly - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Ryan has written yet another lucid piece of work, this time on a very thoughtful approach to the eminently learnable skill of lucid dreaming. This is a very engaging and knowledgeable work, written in the clear voice of an experienced lucid dreamer. Should be added to the library (and arsenal) of any lucid dreamer, experienced, or newbie*.

Malcolm Kelly, Broughty Ferry, Scotland (* latter category).
