This DVD contains two great "lucha" movies. Side one, "The Champions of Justice", and side two, "Mystery in Bermuda" ; yes folks it's a flipper!

The first movie concerns the nefarious, La Mano Negra ( Black Hand ),who, on kidnapping several Miss Mexico contestants, the reason why is never fully explained, but who cares anyway, enrages their "uncles", the Champions of Justice, featuring Blue Demon, Thousand Masks, ( well about four ), the Avenging Shadow and the Killer Doctor. What you end up with, are, several fight scenes between the wrestlers and Black Hand's super-strength, vertically challenged, red lyca-clad army. This film is so not P.C.

The second film concerns the top three "lucha" fighters - El Santo, Blue Demon and Thousand Masks, dangerous mission to protect the Princess of Irania from evil forces, sent to stop her from signing a peace treaty. This means plenty of wrestling, scene chewing villains and totally illogical plot; coming across like The A-Team on acid.

The disc itself is very good, the picture is sharp, the colours nice and rich. The print for both movies have varying degrees of damage but not to spoil the general viewing. Both have only Spanish audio, in stereo or 5.1, but the English subtitles are on the whole fine, if not a little smirk inducing at times, ".... I believe you knew her in the United Stated."!!

And the disc is REGION 0, not region 1!!!.

So sit back, pull on the spandex, fasten that cape, adjust that "lucha" mask, and spend a few hours bathing in the glow of El Santo, Blue Demon, et al.

These are two of the finest Mexiploitation films out there. A lot of the Mexican wrestling genre movies are also closely tired to supernatural goings-on but not these. Straight up, no frills but plenty of lycra.

Another viewer mentions the lack of English subtitles on Campeones Justicieros, but my copy has them -- is there another edition out there?

This particular feature is freaking awesome: mad scientist, evil dwarves, kidnapped beauty pagent babes with big hair, drugged zombies, sleeping in lucha masks -- this one has everything!

4.0 out of 5 stars MEXICO'S JUSTICE LEAGUE and THE HOLY TRINITY of WRESTLING 26 May 2009
By David M. Goode - Published on Amazon.com
Any fan of the Mexilucahero genre should own a copy of this DVD.The Champions of Justice features a group of luchadors who have come to be known as Mexico's answer to the Justice League of America. In this their premiere adventure Blue Demon,Mil Mascaras,Tinieblas,el Medico Asesino, and la Sombra Vengadora team up to battle a mad scientist and his minions, including a squadron of super-strong masked midgets. Also included in this film aside from the usual fights in and out of the squared circle are motorcycle and dune-buggy chases.Plus there is a plethora of Mexican pulchritude provided by the actresses portraying the Champions'respective nieces(girl friends) who in the course of the film are kidnapped by the film's villian.Good comic book-like fun.The second film on this disc stars Mexico's Holy Trinity of Wrestling, Santo,Blue Demon, and Mil Mascaras. In this their second and final teaming the 3 heroes battle enemy agents as well as alien invaders from outer space. But just as much fun as the action sequences is watching the masked men romance a trio of Mexican beauties.Neither film is dubbed into English, but you shouldn't have too much trouble following the comic book-like storylines.
