Listening to this album makes you wonder why more people don't make this kind of music instead of the usual Pop Idol/HearSay stuff. However, they probably couldn't do it like Michael Cretu who can combine spirituality, dance, sensuality and meditation in his music like no-one else. One minor quibble - don't think "Morphing thru Time" should have been included. "The Child in Us" from the third album would've blended better with the end song "The Cross of Changes" and is a better song. But would I recommend it? Absolutely!! Just the thing if you're suffering from Geri Halliwell/Robbie Williams overload (which is just about all of us, surely). Magical and sensual.

I had heard 2 or 3 Enigma hits in the past and was impressed with the quality of the music and video content. Why I did not investigate them further at the time remains a mystery to me.
Thanx to Annie in the Village for reminding me how good Enigma is.
From the moment this CD dropped through my letter box, I have not stopped playing it. Cretu has been very creative here in blending his own imaginative style with a few samples from Carl Orf, tribal chants etc. The result is outstanding, the music is so spiritual, it touches your soul and engages you from start to finish. I cannot imagine anyone not loving this compilation!

Those who already possess the considerable Enigma collection, to date, may be a little hesitant to add this 'Greatest Hits' to the pile.
I have all four of the previous albums, along with the Trilogy pack, as well as many of the CD singles.
I have still enjoyed this latest offering. Included are many of the old favourites in their original form. 'TNT for the Brain' is a different, more upbeat, version than the original.
Joy of joys, there is a little new material ... 'The Landing' is another typically Enigma-esque introduction, and 'Turn Around' is the only full-length new track included to whet your appetite for the can't-come-too-soon Engima 5. It definitely signals a more upbeat, modern direction that Cretu seems to be taking.
All in all, a worthy addition to an existing collection. If, however, you've never treated yourself to one of the previous Engima offerings, this is an excellent way to hear a bit of what you've been missing.

Fantastic. This album is a must for all those who are Enigma fans - and those who have yet to discover its enchanting sounds.
The album is a compilation of the best of Engima - from the famous number one hit Sadeness to their new single Turn Around.
There is a whopping 18 tracks, taken from the four Enigma albums, some of which have been re-mastered to sound even better than ever.
It's haunting, it's enchanting... It will take you on a voyage of discovery... Absolutely brilliant.

Enigma offer some of the best chillout music of modern times. Their eclectic mix of soothing layer sounds, uplifting vocals and powerful keyboard sounds and synths make this the most unique album there is.

Couple this with real instruments used to breathe life into many of the songs, and you have an album that stirs emotions and lifts you up.

It seems impossible for powerful songs, that contain heavy vocals, passionate lyrics and strong guitar riffs to still somehow calm and sooth the imagination; Enigma do this with tracks such as Gravity Of Love. As an album, if flows beautifully, with nearly 80 minutes of musical genius and great memory stirs.

Then, of course, there are the classics that most people have heard; Return to Innocence, which offers a fantastic cultural aspect into the album, and Sadeness Pt.1, which frankly, is sensational and extremely uplifting.

This is very unique style of chillout music, because it explores their feelings and rekindles others in yourself. I recommend this album to anyone, no matter your music taste, because the tracks do so much more than reach the ears - they stay in the mind for a long time afterwards.

Did I miss something? I'm sure that the front of the album says GREATEST HITS!! Surely the purpose of these albums is to take us on a journey through the many years the artist in question has been producing music.
Out of the 18 tracks - 9 of them are taken from the latest two albums (The Screen Behind The Mirror and Le Rois Est Mort). And what the hell do the words GREATEST HITS mean? Could it be that the best songs from each album (usually the singles) are included on the album. NO CHANCE.
What the hell are "Smell Of Desire" or "Shadows In Silence" doing on there? I would expect such classic tracks like "Out From The Deep" (easily the best single from "Cross Of Changes") or "Silent Warrior".
As with all greatest hits albums, there's always the odd couple of songs they miss off.
Now for the good points - oh wait, there aren't any. At least if you own the four Enigma albums. Buy this only if
a) you don't own any other Enigma albums
b) you are a collector of Enigma CD's
If you want the brand new track, "Turn Around" then go out and buy the single.
