From the Manufacturer

The Trusted Original

Lowepro was born from one daring mountaineer’s desire to capture some of the world’s most unexplored beauty spots, with just a camera in tow. Greg Lowe made it his mission to create only the best in innovative, cutting-edge equipment, to protect extreme sporting lovers’ cameras and cinematography equipment from the heart-pounding elements.

The humble Colorado garage beginning of the world’s first Internal Frame Backpack in 1967 pays tribute to Lowe’s enduring belief that he could be the one to design a close-fitting and supportive backpack to transport camera and recording equipment that had otherwise never been seen before. Climbers, mountain bikers, skiers and hikers could now comfortably carry their equipment to heights that only they had known, capturing intimate sights for the rest of the world to see.

Lowe’s first defying feat paved the way for the original Soft-sided Protective Camera Bag, also to be the first of its time.

And with that, the Lowepro mark took off. Fast forward to today and Lowepro has seen the creation of the first ever waterproof camera backpack, and continues to innovate each year to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced, ever changing world of technology and photography.

Better than the original Fastpack

It’s lights, camera, action with the DSLR Video Fastpack as you slip your arm out of one strap and rotate the bag from the back to the front. An easy access side-entry pocket ensures your essential camera gear is only seconds away.

The DSLR Video Fastpack includes an easy-to-reach zipped pocket at the top of the bag to hold all your enhancing audio gear for quick assembly of all your equipment, so you can capture your shot before the moment passes.

A hideaway Tripod Mount helps secure a tripod or DSLR video rig to the side of your pack, and is easily accessible to fix assembled gear to.

The latest DSLR Video Fastpack backpack builds on the novice design of its predecessor, the original Fastpack backpack. Acknowledging the fact that today’s photographers are experimenting not only with camera stills, but video too, the new DSLR series accommodates gear for both passions.

With a side-entry pocket opening to the lower half of the backpack, photographers can store their camera gear in the specially padded camera compartment designed to protect delicate equipment from damage. Any audio accessories can be stored separately in the audio compartment located at the top of the bag.

The bag for photographers and videographers

The new DSLR Video Fastpack is a sleek multimedia camera bag that works well for city photographers and adventure photographers. Packing plenty of storage features inside and out, the tight, secure side pockets and customisable interior storage system mean this backpack fits everything you need without adding bulk.

The camera compartment can be reached by a fast-access, side-entry pocket opening to the lower half of the bag, ready to capture the action. The padded, adjustable camera system accommodates a pro DSLR with an attached lens of varying sizes, depending on which version of the series you choose, whilst the top half of the bag unzips to reveal an audio compartment for storing all your video accessories.

Built for busy photographers, the DSLR Video Fastpack includes a top loading protective laptop pocket for easy-access. A slim line design and stow-away waist belt keeps the bag packed down, whilst the built-in All Weather AWCover protects gear from the elements. This series is also ideal for airline carry-on, so you can keep your valuable equipment with you as you travel.

I use this bag for pretty much everything I do. It holds my Canon 600D with 18-135mm and 50mm prime, plus charger, battery, cards, cloth, AV cable etc PLUS my Macbook Air (11" or 13") and the charger and USB cables for that, all without using the top pocket.

The Video lead pouch that comes in the top is great for holding USB cables and small external hard drives, and you can rearrange the padding in the DSLR section to your hearts content. Or completely remove it and it makes a decent weekend laptop bag - I managed to get my clothes for the weekend in place of my camera, and still had most of the top pocket free.

It has a rain cover so I'm not worried about being out in the rain, it's very well padded, it's a lot more rigid than the Fastpack 100 (similar bag, no laptop space) but it's still pretty small so works well on trains + planes. It has a tripod pouch that folds out beneath the water bottle holder, and it has 2 straps on either side that are great for carrying kit or jumpers/coats.

It has the fast access side pocket for getting to your camera, and the external pocket on the top is great for holding tickets, maps. I'm pretty sure it has a pocket between the straps on the back for holding a phone/MP3 player, although I've never tried to use that.

It has a waist strap and you straps grip your shoulders nicely so it sits quite securely on your back.

This bag is incredibly robust, versatile, lightweight and secure, I can use it for most of the trips I go on, either on it's own or alongside a big holdall full of clothes. Everything else goes in this bag.

A faultlessly designed, strong, light and comfortable bag with many useful pockets. Ideal for air travel, travel photography or just used as a general day pack. I found the full length pocket designed for laptop or notepad also ideal for travel documents, guide book, etc. It's much more flexible than it looks on paper.

It kept all my travel documents, money and passport, DSLR camera, creams and potions, small compact camera, water, hat, spare shirt(s), GPS unit, ipod and headphones all safe but easily accessible on a recent trip abroad by air, sea and land.

Highly recommended. Expensive but worth every penny.

With a bit of reconfiguration in the bottom section alone I can get in my:
Canon 50D with EFS-18-200IS and Petal lens hood (all fitted)
Speedlite 580EX II
EF50
with 1 small space to spare.

It is a close fit but works well for me. II tried the 350AW, but this was too big for aircraft hand luggage and the height meant that the camera would move about lots (great bag though!). The top section and laptop sections allow loads of space for other kit. I love it.

Provides great protection and peace of mind with its padded compartment for your SLR and accessories. The zip pocket for the SLR on the side is designed for quick and easy access, and the hidden tripod carrier and weather proof cover are just great features. Comfortably carries either my 13 inch laptop or tablet as well. You may want a bigger bag if you need to carry more than your SLR and a laptop, as there isn't much space for anything else, but otherwise ideal for the photographer on the go.

I received the bag in good time after purchase, all safe and well packaged.

I can't say enough good things about this bag..

-Comfortable when on, and straps don't cut in 10 mins after setting off.
-Enough room inside to house a medium sized (600d) dslr, with a 17-70 lens still attached
-another slot which my 50mm prime sits in snug
-top compartment which my filters, cleaning cloth, memory card any other small misc items live
-there is a rear laptop compartment which my iPad slots into nicely
-and the real bonus for me was the side tripod attachment.. But beware, I have a medium sized tripod which is just about its limit. Anything bigger i.e. your £200 thick legged, chunky tripod probably would struggle

It's a great bag for somebody like myself who needed a smaller more agile backpack for an evening sunset shoot or a day bag when out with the family. It's sleek and styled well at a affordable price. I would have no hesitation to recommend this bag to any of my fellow photographer friends..

For some reason, through a whole journey around Amazon and the web comparing backpacks, I decided this would be perfect for my mirrorless setup (NEX-6, 3 lenses, filters etc). It is way too big and I returned it. The bag is well made though and sturdy, but suited only for large DSLRs - I'd even question buying this if I had a normal DSLR.

The other thing is that this bag looks really unsubtle. It screams "I have loads of expensive gear in here". Functionally though, if the size is right, it is excellent, with good space, compartments and tripod holder.

full of useful size pockets to store all my camera gear, love the quick pocket to release my camera stored even with my telephoto lens on it, with loads more room for another lens or two.
Its really great for me because I like hiking around the area I'm in, and just strapping this on my back knowing that if i come across a great camera shot, i can get my camera out of the bag and take the shot in a couple of minutes, including changing lens etc..
I thoroughly recommend this product.
