This isn't a cheap camera bag, but it's exceptionally sturdy, well designed and well finished. Obviously a lot of effort has gone into its design, and I was impressed by the number of options you get. For example, you can use the handle-type strap at the top, or there's a shoulder strap that can be adjusted for carrying on the shoulder - either straight down or across-the-chest.

The construction is extremely rugged, and the stitching, straps, clips and zips are very well made, and of a good size too.

You can configure the padding inside very flexibly, and the amount of padding - both internally and the sides, top and bottom - is very good. The padding on the shoulder strap is generous, which is vital if you're going to lug a lot of equipment around all day.

There's plenty of room inside; I don't think I'll have to jam my equipment into it like I do with my old Tamrac bag, and there are more pockets than you can shake a stick at. You get various pouches too - one for your memory cards, one for your cables and accessories etc.

It's finished very well, and looks smart and professional. A good buy, in my opinion.

A capacious and well constructed shoulder bag containing many features. Will take a lot of lenses and other assessories, but when full to capacity will be heavy, so beware of carrying for long distances. The next size up is much larger, so I think you would need to take a pack mule with you! The smaller size will not accommodate two camera bodies and a number of lenses. But this bag which can take two bodies and several lenses appears to be aimed at the serious amateur or professional photographer. This bag got a "best buy" award recently in the Digital Photo magazine.

Great bag - slightly wide but with a removable inner core to reduce bulk. Lots of pockets and pouches that hold a surprising amount. V useful zip on top so you don't have to open the whole thing to pull lenses out sharpish when you need. With a bit of reworking using the removable velcro panels inside you can actually fit two DSLRs (a Nikon D70 and a Canon 50D), two lenses, a flashgun, a 35mm point n shoot, cables, chragers, firewires and assorted bits and pieces like filters and puffer brushes. Spoke to a dude in a shop before ordering online who was dead against this bag as he felt it too flashy and not a 'serious photojournalism' bit of kit. He was wrong - it's a bit flash but vvv well-padded. Am taking it on assignments in rough environments - hasn't let me down yet!

Only three stars from me, but only because of one bad failing - that apart, this is a good kit bag for amateurs; I'm certainly not a pro, so won't comment on what's good for those guys.

I'll mainly echo the previous two reports, but would add that the shoulder strap has a cushioned pad to spread the weight of the contents, on - what else? - your shoulder...

But the surface of this pad is virtually friction-free, so that the bag easily slides off your shoulder, not good; - to keep it secure you need to opposite-shoulder it, which I personally don't like doing and to be honest don't see why this should be necessary on a bag of this quality.

The under-surface of the shoulder pad is speckled with little dots that look as if they're meant to be a friction feature to stop sliding problems, but - they may be made of Teflon for all the good they do.

For me, this is spoiling what is otherwise a very nice bag indeed.

Its other features seem well thought out, such as being able to tether the card wallet to the mother bag, the adjustability of the main compartment to your own needs, and the (hopefully) weatherproof zip across the top, to give quick access to your kit without undoing the main lid/flap.

Quality of manufacture seems fine, and its Chinese origin (what isn't these days?) doesn't seem to have impacted on its construction; apart from my main moan as above.

I've emailed Lowepro re the above, so will see what their answer's like. This is often what separates sheep from goats with equipment suppliers - how they handle customer concerns.

Their guarantee reads well, so my hopes are high... (fingers X'd)

The bag is big enough to hold a DSLR with a lens on + other 4 lenses. The inside configuration is costumizable. Has a quick access zipper on the top, so that you can get your gear out right away. Also comes with a raincover.
Solid build. If you need a middle size shoulder bag for your equipment, it is a good choice.

My current camera bag whilst good for two lenses (one with the lens attached) had become very limiting. I just wanted a bag with space for an additional lens and some extra kit but nothing fancy. However I am very fussy about quality. I confess to having looked in a high street photgraphic retailer - after walking out in shock with their catalogue I started to compare prices and specifications. The D100 AW stood out. At the time of purchase there was a massive difference in price - some £57+ ! Even at a higher price I would be very impressed with this bag. It took me some time to investigate all the various compartments - every surface (including underneath!) had some useful feature or other. The fact that it integrates a bag with seperate removeable memory card holder and a bag for cables/psu etc meant that everything had a place. Impressive features included: The "wet bag" stored in the bottom, the excellent grippy shoulder strap but with the option of waist mounting or just hand held! Also the many sections for lens caps, cleaning kit or whatever means I will never run out of space. I have even decided to use the cable kit bag to hold my Camcorder together with all my DSLR kit! It may not suit some seasoned photographers with lenses over 300mm but for upto that I believe it is fine. If you want hydration packs, space for your Canon 500mm+ lens, laptop etc look elsewhere but for me it was the best £23 I have ever spent!
