Lowepro is one of the trusted and professional photographers have relied on their products since 1967. These photographers carry Lowepro bags all over the world - in every kind of climate and in every kind of condition - and rely on the inventive designs to provide protection, accessibility, comfort and durability they can trust. For the DSLR or camcorder user who’s looking for a protective, lightweight, streamlined bag that’s packed with practical features look to the Adventura 170.
Lowepro’s thoughtfully organised shoulder bag comes in three sizes to accommodate DSLRs and camcorders, plus accessories. The zippered main compartment features a quick-release buckle and rainflap lid, offering quick access to contents when bag is unzipped and extra protection when bag is fully closed. A removable/adjustable shoulder strap features a non-slip patch and sturdy snaphooks make connections secure. Inside the fully padded interior, a soft tricot lining provides protection, plus a high-visibility burnt orange colour making it easy to see gear while you work out of the bag. Additional organisation features include: zippered front pocket with memory card storage, padded grab handle and two pleated side pockets. Two belt loops provide an added carrying option on the 170 model.
From the Manufacturer
The Trusted Original
Lowepro was born from one daring mountaineer’s desire to capture some of the world’s most unexplored beauty spots, with just a camera in tow. Greg Lowe made it his mission to create only the best in innovative, cutting-edge equipment, to protect extreme sporting lovers’ cameras and cinematography equipment from the heart-pounding elements.
The humble Colorado garage beginning of the world’s first Internal Frame Backpack in 1967 pays tribute to Lowe’s enduring belief that he could be the one to design a close-fitting and supportive backpack to transport camera and recording equipment that had otherwise never been seen before. Climbers, mountain bikers, skiers and hikers could now comfortably carry their equipment to heights that only they had known, capturing intimate sights for the rest of the world to see.
Lowe’s first defying feat paved the way for the original Soft-sided Protective Camera Bag, also to be the first of its time.
And with that, the Lowepro mark took off. Fast forward to today and Lowepro has seen the creation of the first ever waterproof camera backpack, and continues to innovate each year to keep up with the demands of a fast-paced, ever changing world of technology and photography.
The purpose built camera bag
Smaller than a backpack and handier to wear, the Adventura is a lightweight camera shoulder bag to protect your DSLR equipment and accessories. Designed for days where it’s just you and your camera out there exploring the world, enjoy quick access to your DSLR or CSC and extra lenses, ready to capture that too-good-to-be-missed moment.
A fully lined and padded interior is home to your DSLR or CSC, with additional dividers found in the interior compartment for lenses and flash (dependent on the Adventura model.) Each of the Adventura bags comes with two pleated side pockets, providing accessible storage space for additional photography equipment.
Take the Adventura along with you to any kind of shoot- whether you’re hoping to capture the moment that the sun hits the surface of a cascading waterfall, or an inner city shot of bustling commuter life. This camera bag series protects sensitive photography equipment, ensuring it is in top condition whenever you reach for it.
A rainflap lid covers the zippered closure to keep the interior contents protected in wet conditions. Contrasting burnt orange padded interior tricot lining provides a soft and high-visibility surface that can be seen in dim lighting. A quick-release buckle ensures extra security when carrying your camera through busy cities & crowds.
The camera bag to take on shoots
The Adventura series offers a sleek shoulder bag with carrying facilities to fit a DSLR or CSC and additional camera gear. An adjustable shoulder strap with non-slip patch ensures easy wear and added comfort. Carry further equipment such as tripods and monopods easily with the built-in belt loops on the Adventura 170. Attached at the rear side of the bag, larger items can be stored out of the way for convenient travel. Transform the Adventura from a shoulder bag into a hand-held bag by simply removing the shoulder strap for a camera bag that’s tailored to you.
Unlock the quick-release buckle at an opportune moment for fast access to the interior compartment and stored camera gear. The Adventura 140 and 170 open up to reveal a compartmentalised interior, designed to fit DSLR in the centre partition, with lens or flash sitting either side of the camera in neighbouring compartments. Carry your everyday essentials in the pleated side pockets or zippered front pocket, featuring memory card and organisation pockets for a compact camera bag that has plenty of room for all your equipment.

By chance, whilst searching through the bags in a small private camera shop in Chichester, I stumbled upon this beauty and my fiance kindly bought it for me. I have been delighted with it. It is exactly what I was looking for: secure, strong, padded, a good size (it comfortably fits my Canon SX40, a couple of spare filters, a spare battery, lens cleaning cloth, a small table top tripod, spare memory cards, charging cable and my small point and shoot camera too (well, why not?) It even was home to my raincoat during a trip to the New Forest last week. In fact, the torrential rain we walked around in was proof that this bag is indeed waterproof.
The carry handle on the top is a handy addition and isn't something that can be found on the majority of other compact cambera bags, the shoulder strap is detachable if you don't want the bag slung over your shoulder. This is a must have if you value your camera.
this bag fits the following:
- Panasonic FX150 (this is a fairly compact bridge camera)
- lens hood
- 55mm lens converter
- 1.7x tele converter lens
- macro lens
and there is room to fit another 2 lenses, just about !
Cables and memory card fit into the front zipped pocket.
There are 2 side pockets which you could use 'temporarily', as they each have an elastic closing top, but not zips.
Strap is comfortable. Makes all this gear really portable - I cycle around with all my camera gear now, no worries, even with the Irish rain !
Would recommend - however, perhaps best you try in a walk-in street store, just to make sure that the bag suits you and your gear.
Its very convenient to have a small slot pocket at the back perfect for a map or some paperwork. And as two small pockets on either side for my camera and some money so I only carry this bag with me when I'm out on the streets.
The only problem I've had with it so far is the shoulder strap which I feel could be made off better quality. From two weeks of rather intensive traveling the black shoulder strap is starting show quite a bit of strings peeling off.

Nice and snuggly to fit the camera in, although it was a tight squeeze to attach the 100-300mm lens. Overall a good bag.Published 22 days ago by Ms. R. Marriott-smith
