This review is from: The Low-GL Diet Counter: Discover the GL Count of Hundreds of Foods (Paperback)
This book is very disappointing, I bought it thinking it would tell me the GL scores for more foods than the ones listed in the Holford diet, therefore making life easier when buying/eating food. However the lists are no more detailed they are the same as in the other books instead they are listed in categories of which meal they are suitable for. The only real use I can see of this book is that it’s small and light to carry around ie. to the supermarket

I didn't find this booklet to be user friendly at all. I had hoped for a full alphabetical listing of all foods and their GL value. This book is arranged with listings under various headings (categories of food, type of meal etc). Organising the information in this way made it time consuming to find the information I was looking for. Also I found the food listings were limited.

A brilliant book which had me quickly ordering the recipe book. It explains well how to control your blood sugar levels and keep hunger away. I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for an easy way of learning about Low GI foods (GL is glycemic load, which is a more realistic approach to GI foods.. in serving sizes as opposed to per 100g).
