4.0 out of 5 stars Gold Legion brings more Moroder to CD--but it's not his finest disco moment. 25 Sep 2010
By Daniel W. Kelly - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Definitely a piece for completists, this 1978 Giorgio Moroder album featuring female singer Chris Bennett on vocals is possibly his weakest effort--especially considering it comes AFTER the powerhouse electronic disco track I Feel Love, not to mention many other genre defining tracks with Donna Summer that broke the disco mold. What you get here is almost 'lounge disco'--the kind of generic stuff you'd hear in 1970s movies with soundtracks that imitated the disco craze without paying royalties to any major artists to give it authenticity. Not to sound like Simon Cowell, but Chris Bennett's vocals are like something you'd expect to hear on a cruise ship--in the 70s! There really isn't a single standout stomping disco track on this release. But of course, it is fantastic to have even more Moroder preserved on CD at last.

4.0 out of 5 stars Moroder's magic continues... 6 April 2011
By Spaceball - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Giorgio Moroder was unstoppable in the 70s and early 80s. This album is a concept album with vocalist Chris Bennett, and it's a good disco album which lends itself more on the pop side. There are some electronic sound but it has some lush strings to blend with Chris's smooth vocals. It's not hugely high on the 130 bpm plus side, apart from the electro stormer "Love Now Hurt Later". It's frantic Hi NRG and is the most elctronic track on the album.
Sadly there wasn't another album for the two, but you can almost count the Munich Machine "Whiter Shade Of Pale" album as one, since Chris sings lead on most of the tracks. This is a good album but it's real mixture of pop dominates.

4.0 out of 5 stars mr.moroder..... 7 Jan 2011
By jose - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
this album is for fans of giorgio moroder. the title song runs for 15 minutes changing twice the name, but is the same tune, same song (a sex eloquent lyric), so i don't know why the partitions. i guees to make money on the MP3. the other 3 songs are very worth of a fan of giorgio moroder all more than 5-6 min long. the songs come wrongly named in the CD when you read it in the computer, so you have to edit it before passing it to the MP3. nothing to do with donna summer thought.

My son loves this stuff. Basically got it for him. The songs I get to hear again as if it were yesterday and the 80's again.

I am one of the few that bought this treasure when it was first released on vinyl. Great combination of standard disco and great jazz trained vocals by Chris.
