Review

I don't live in London, yet the humour in this 'unofficial' guide to the London Underground is widely appealing. Interesting facts are teamed with inventive ways to spend your commute, and I find myself desperate to go to London just to put some of them to the test. The author's voice is fun and entertaining and I almost felt like I was on an open-top bus guided tour of the underground (although that sounds dangerous so this is a much cheaper and safer option). Maybe Rosemary can start a petition to the London Underground officials to take on-board some of her clever suggestions. This book is an enjoyable read for either on or off the underground although from what I hear, you might not have the elbow room to do anything but breathe on the tube. I'd recommend this to everyone who commutes in London and to the rest of us too for a good read. --Amazon review of UK Kindle edition

I was intrigued by the title and even more so by the book. I am not a seasoned user of the London Underground but on the couple of times of year I do use it I'm always plagued by questions (one of the main ones being 'why?'). Rosemary Kind answered all my questions and many, many more - but even better, she made me laugh at loud at least once per page and she actually made me look forward to my next visit to London. (And my favourite game, 'Mornington Cresent' got a mention - hurray! Kind's explanation of the rules was phenomenal...) --Amazon review of UK Kindle edition

Product Description

Lovers Take up Less Space is a humorous review of the addictive misery of commuting on London Underground. A blow by blow account of everything from how to find breathing space on a packed Tube train, to the psychological torture of your fellow passengers eating a fresh hot bag of chips and not passing them round. It includes games to transform underground travel from a necessary evil to a spare time recreational activity, together with surprising facts and figures answering questions you had not yet thought to ask. Not for the faint hearted. This book will open your eyes to experiences your senses have long since ignored in the interest of sanity.
