If you like Yaoi with a happy ending and not too filled with angst then this is the one for you. The art is excellent and very professional. Badly drawn characters are a real problem in some Yaoi, but Kae Maruya's drawing style is a real pleasure to look at. It resembles Ayano Yamane's art in some ways.
The main story starts with Kazuto who wakes up to find himself naked and in the bed of the handsome and very wealthy Akihiko Takasugi. Akihiko informs him that he has bought one month of his time, a fact that Kazuto can't remember as he was so drunk the night before. Initially alarmed by this fact and worried about what he may or may not have done the previous night in the (slightly) older man's bed, Kazuto begins to warm to the rich and lonely Akihiko. Kazuto is in need of cash and Akihiko is alone. I won't spoil the whole story for people but the book is pleasingly romantic mixed with humour and a real background story. The lead characters are both stunning; the taller and older Akihiko is typically strong jawed and handsome, and the slightly younger wide-eyed Kazuto is pretty without being too feminine.
There are two extra stories after this one which are also stunningly drawn and have interesting if not dramatic stories. One centres on the friendship of two guys who have grown up together and how their relationship develops and the other is about two step-brothers discover their true feelings for each other. (Not real blood related brothers so it's not too weird!).
These stories are pleasing, the art is wonderful and the sex is a part of the main story, and very sexy but not crude.
I hope to see more of Kae Maruya's work. This book is one that I like to read regularly as the guys are so beautiful!
Buy this if you want sexy, beautiful guys who have real feelings for each other and don't just want to have sex every page (but there is sex and not just kissing - just so you know!).
