A fantastic piece of literature! In this book you'll find passion, adventure, sleaze, bitchiness and drama - a perfect cocktail! I laughed so much! For those of you who haven't read any of Jackie's novels, this is the perfect one to introduce you to her flair and to get you hooked!

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 5 Jan 2007
Format:Paperback
I absolutely loved this book. Lots of things going on, enough characters to make it interesting without making the story too complicated, unexpected twists and turns all over the place.

a great read with fame, fortune and deep secrets!

The first Jackie Collins book I read in 1979 and I am still completely hooked by the characters. I just wish Jackie would revisit the story as she has done with the Santangelo series. Bad boy Al King meets his match in Dallas the beauty queen and former hooker. Sex, bombs, hijacking, power and money - Ms Collins at her finest without the politically correct overtones of her modern novels.
The couple progress through the saga with a number of sharply drawn unforgetable minor characters - including Linda Cosmo who plays the sex game using male rules.Melanie King calculating gold digger married to Al's penny pinching brother Paul and Al's door mat of a wife - Edna who finally learns to apply eye shadow.
There are the whores and junkies with sugar daddies - the decent but dull Cody Hills and Bobbie with her green talons and heroin habit.
Pick it up if you dare and go back to the swinging seventies where hedonism and fun ruled the day.
