Book Description

7 Aug 2008

Tim Lovejoy loves football. Along with Helen Chamberlain he presented Soccer AM for more than a decade to become as much a part of a football fan's weekend as phone-ins, back-page EXCLUSIVES and the vidiprinter. But why does Tim love football? Is it actually the most important subject in the world? And did he really once support Watford as a kid?

Lovejoy on Football gets down to the nitty gritty of the really important stuff in football, such as:

Why he, Tim, is technically a rubbish football fan;

Women's true place in football;

How 'Save Chip' became the biggest football cause in the country;

Why it's a bad idea to hammer Razor Ruddock;

And why footballers are in fact underpaid.

Packed with amusing anecdotes, bustling with great football stories and full of strong opinions, Lovejoy on Football is the must-have football book of 2007.

1.0 out of 5 stars What utter rubbish. 6 Jan 2008
Format:Hardcover
I seriously worry for the sanity of the first two reviewers of this book, which have given it the undue high rating it has received. This is an egotistical piece of utter tripe from start to finish proving what an utter hipster bore Lovejoy is. This is the worse book ever written by frankly one of the most tedious and downright idiotic characters that has ever graced the earth.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nonce-sense 3 Dec 2008
Format:Paperback
Same management agency as the Spice Girls, with the equivalent knowledge of football (no offence Sporty). I've seen porn videos with less bum-licking and greater development of character than his infomercial "documentry" on Beckham.

By Wizzer
Format:Paperback
Came across this book by chance, a mate had bought it I think (hope) ironically. Like some of the other football fans who do take the game of football seriously and posted a review, this book is not for you. If you are thoughtful and enjoy the beautiful game, then please avoid at all costs. I only gave it 1 star as Amazon doesn't allow 0 stars.
