I bought this shawl when my daughter was 10 weeks old; I'd been breastfeeding since day one. I actually bought it so I could feel more comfortable in public places - I use a nipple shield and have quite large breasts, so it's hard to be discreet. However, it was even more of a palaver with the shawl.
Being 'shawl-shaped' it has big openings at the sides, so I found my breasts were still on show. And to be able to look at your baby while feeding you have to pull down the neckline quite far to be able to see properly - thereby making the shawl lift up at the back and sides even more.
The material IS lovely and soft and it's nicely made, but as a nursing shawl it was definitely more of a hindrance than a help. I found myself getting incredibly stressed trying to keep the thing in the right place while latching my daughter on. In the end, on a recent family day out to an aquarium, I gave up and decided to bare all instead. And it was a LOT less hassle!
Maybe the shawl works for some people, but I would certainly not recommend it to anyone.
