Eva-Maria Zurhorst was originally a journalist and worked for the print media and radio and as an author in South Africa and Egypt. Later she became a business coach and communications advisor. Today, following training as a psychotherapist, she works as a relationship and career coach with business people, managers and couples. Regardless of the base of the problems, the focus on her work is always the development of love for oneself. She is now a columnist and relationship counsellor for a popular Women's magazine in Germany and regularly hosts a TV program on relationships. She lives with her husband and daughter in Germany

I got this book from my best friend. To be fair I don't agree with everything yet but having said that I def go through each chapter again and again. Eva-Maria changed the way I look at myself forever. I am deeply thankful.

It is not often that a book comes along that has the power to change lives - this is one such book. Eva-Maria Zurhorst has written about a little known aspect of relationships - that our problems are not really with our partners but with ourselves! Furthermore she explains how an understanding of this powerful truth helps us to see that the person we are fighting with or have withdrawn from has the keys to not just saving the relationship but also finding true happiness and peace in life. These are challenging ideas but Eva-Maria has written this book in a way that is both readable and incredibly moving. Read this book once and then read it again - then recommend it to all your friends. It will transform you life and their lives, as its ideas have transformed mine.

After reading this book,over and over again, I understood more deeply how much loving oneself, living in the moment and believing that "is is possible" to continue and grow together. I definitely have been able to understand and come to peace with the few divorces in my close relationships.
I am convinced that whoever honestly takes this book to heart will be able to not only save and heal, but also actively commit to and enjoy growing his or her relationship.
